Grandparents’ Issues

Grandparents’ Issues

Sadly, there are many grandparents who have played an active role in their grandchildren’s lives only to find themselves shut-out after their grandchildren’s parents separate.

The Family Law Act 1975 recognises the rights of children to have a relationship with the important people in their lives including specifically, their grandparents.

We have successfully helped many grandparents continue to have a relationship with their grandchildren after a separation including acting for grandparents in contested Family Court proceedings where one or both parents have resisted them having a relationship with their grandchildren.

If you are being denied a relationship with your grandchildren we can help you to re-establish that relationship.

We have also helped many grandparents who have been called upon to take on the parenting of their grandchildren after a separation.
